11 Plus Exam Pass Mark and Target Score

The pass mark for each year is decided after the tests have been marked.
The eligibility score will is set at 111 on a standardised scale. Pupils who score 111 or above will be in the top 35% of the cohort sitting the examination and will be considered eligible for consideration for a grammar school place in Slough.

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Langley Grammar School?

Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.

You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.

Langley Grammar School is part of the Slough Consortium, which consists of Herschel Grammar School, Langley Grammar School, St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School and Upton Court Grammar School.

Does Langley Grammar School have a catchment area?

Langley Grammar School does have a catchment area, which is split into three sections. However, entry to the school is based firstly on the scores achieved in the 11+ tests.

Priority Area 1 (Inner): SL3 7, SL3 8, SL3 9, SL3 0

Priority Area 2 (Outer): SL0, SL1, SL2, SL3 (outside Area 1), SL4 TW18, TW19, TW20 UB3, UB4, UB7, UB8, UB10

How Does Place Allocation Work?

Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:

Eligible applicants with a permanent home address within the school’s Priority Area 1 and are eligible for Pupil Premium.
Eligible applicants with a permanent home address within the school’s Priority Area 1, in rank order of performance in the admission examination, up to a maximum of 100 places.
Eligible applicants with a permanent home address within the school’s Priority Area 2 and are eligible for Pupil Premium.
Eligible applicants who are children of permanent members of the staff.
Eligible applicants with a permanent home address within the school’s Priority Area 2, in rank order of performance in the admission examination.
Eligible applicants who live within the school’s Priority Area 3, in rank order of performance in the admission examination.
