The pass mark for each year is decided after the tests have been marked.
The eligibility score will is set at 111 on a standardised scale. Pupils who score 111 or above will be in the top 35% of the cohort sitting the examination and will be considered eligible for consideration for a grammar school place in Slough.

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Herschel Grammar School?
Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.
You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.

Herschel Grammar School is part of the Slough Consortium, which consists of Herschel Grammar School, Langley Grammar School, St Bernardβs Catholic Grammar School and Upton Court Grammar School.
Does Herschel Grammar School have a catchment area?
Herschel Grammar School does have a catchment area, which gives priority to students living within 4 miles of the school. However, entry to the school is based firstly on the scores achieved in the 11+ tests.
How Does Place Allocation Work?
Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
Children in care or who have been in care.
Children who live within four miles of the school (in a straight line from the front door of your childβs home address (including flats) to the main entrance gate of the school). The closer you live, the higher the priority.
Children eligible for Pupil Premium who live within 10 miles of the school.
Children of permanent members of the school staff.
Remaining children who performed highest in the entrance exams,
