Looked after children and all children who were previously looked after who achieved a qualifying mark.
Children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
174 candidates who achieve a qualifying mark in rank order.
Up to six students, who achieve a qualifying mark, who are registered and in receipt of the pupil premium at the date of testing. Evidence will be required at the time of allocation.
Other candidates who achieve a qualifying mark in rank order.
To resolve any tied positions within this list the following criteria will be used (strictly in this order):
Students who are registered and in receipt of the pupil or service premium at the date of testing. Evidence will be required at the time of allocation.
Children of a member of staff who has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made or Children of a member of staff who is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
The mark for the DHSB English paper.
If there is still a tie, then distance from DHSB will be used to favour those living nearer to the school.

Exam Information
Exam style — GL Assessment and school written testing.
Exam types:
English (GL).
Maths (GL).
Creative Writing (school written).
Exam length — 3 x 40-50 minute exams.
Pass mark — Changes each year. An average of the two GL Assessment multiple choice papers (Mathematics and English reading) is used to rank each child as either A, B or C.
An A ranking means that your child has passed the tests and can apply for a place at the school.
A B ranking means that your child has passed the tests and can apply for a place at the school. Your child's rank in the tests means that he may be put on the waiting list for a place in Year 7.
A C ranking means that your child has not qualified and cannot be considered for a place at this selective school.
All candidates must also pass the school written English writing paper to be considered eligible. This pass mark also changes every year.
Other exam information:
All questions in the GL papers will be multiple choice.
The creative writing paper ask students to plan and write a descriptive/persuasive piece. Pupils will be marked on sentence structure, punctuation, composition, spelling and vocabulary.
